Cucumbers can be described as long green- skinned fruits with watery flesh usually eaten raw and mostly used in salads. Very few people in Cameroon usually consume them and others undermine it's benefits probably because they do not know that they are super nutritious.

Here are some amazing facts you need to know about cucumbers that might make you want to eat them every day .according to (MARISSA MILLER 2019), there is literally nothing more refreshing than a glass of water filled with slices of cucumber and it is even more refreshing when you place some of the slices over your eyelids.
Staying hydrated is indispensable for transporting nutrients to the cells, flushing out bacteria and preventing constipation. That is why it is recommended to eat enough cucumbers especially those who do not like drinking water. This is because they are made of about 95% of water which keeps one extra hydrated especially in the dry season.
Cucumbers may help in promoting and maintaining a healthy weight. However they cannot on their own perform that task implying that when eating cucumbers with the purpose of weight loss, one must blend it with adequate exercise and a healthy diet.

Cucumbers contain a group of polyphenols called lignans which are vital in treating cancers that are estrogen-related.they also contain other types of antioxidants like beta carotene and flavonoids, which help fight inflammation and protect cells from chronic diseases.
This fruit is also essential in keeping our blood pressure in check. Cucumbers are high in electrolyte potassium which may reduce sodium induced water retention and lowers blood pressure. High blood pressure or hypertension can lead to strokes or even worst scenarios so it is important to consume reasonable amounts of cucumber in order to avoid such risks.
A strong and smooth digestion process is also one of the outcomes of consuming cucumber this is because basically all the calories (which are very low) in cucumbers come from fibre. Fibre helps to improve gut health and bowel movements. It also helps manage diabetic conditions and high levels of cholesterols.
Cucumbers also help in keeping diabetes in check as they expand and reduce cravings for junk foods. They also strengthen the bones due to the presence of vitamin k which also helps prevent blood clot.
The fibre in cucumber feels fast and prevents over eating so for those trying to lose weight, cucumber and exercises has got you covered. In the same light, we are gradually moving into the heart of the dry season so it is advisable to always consume enough cucumbers in order to stay hydrated during this period especially because they have a mild refreshing taste and a high water content.
